This Cowgirl did not have the Blues at her wedding!

Remember that book titled “Even Cowgirls Get the Blues” by Tom Robbins?  I don’t know why I thought of that for a title for this blog, because the book came out in the late 1970′s (I know, I’m dating myself here) and my bride  Courtney certainly did not have the blues at her wedding at the Ridge Tahoe!  But she is a cowgirl, and so is her new husband Steve!  In fact, he participated wonderfully in all the wedding activities, even though I know he was hurting a bit from a mishap the previous week with a horse and some llamas.  No one had the blues on this day, it was a wonderful day for a wedding!  I was happy to work with not only the excellent Ridge Tahoe wedding coordinators, but also David Beronio as minister and Lavish Floral for the flowers.

Snowman serves as great prop for surprise engagement

I received a phone call one day from Ashley, who said she and her fiance Steve were visiting from Arizona and just got engaged!  I could hear the excitement in her voice, apparently they had JUST gotten engaged!  We made arrangements to meet the next day, at the site where he proposed.  It wasn’t until I arrived that I heard the rest of the story:  Steve had built a snowman on the Valhalla Pier and placed the ring on the snow man, then left to go get Ashley, so he could surprise her.  I’ve never been more thankful for our nice mountain town where someone can leave a diamond ring on a snowman unattended and still have the ring be there when they returned.  Anyway, we recreated the scene so I could get photos of The Proposal, and had a great time!

Congratulations Ashley and Steve!

Eloise was pretty specific in what she wanted, which I liked!  She told me she wanted me to come to her hotel room before the ceremony, then do the wedding, then go to the beach afterwards, then go to the restaurant after that for just a few quick cake and toast shots.

Done!  We had a ball, especially with the shots at Lakeside Beach.  The weather was a bit chilly that day, but they were troopers!  Featured in this wedding were lots of cowgirl boots and cowboy hats, and Vince’s laugh was precious, it was so fun hearing him laugh when we were playing on the beach!

Congratulations Eloise and Vince!
